You may see other companies saying they are "LICENSED, BONDED & INSURED", while that is usually true, all that means at minimum is they either have a license to do business within the city and/or have an Registrar of Contractor's (ROC) license, a bond required by the ROC and maybe a general liability policy. A vast majority of companies, are not actually hiring "employees", rather having 1099 contractors so they don't have any workman's compensation protection at all.
True contractors who are being 1099'd and not hired employees are required to provide their own insurance for this protection, but rarely do -- leaving you as the homeowner or business owner at risk for an insurance claim on YOU if someone gets hurt in your home, or if something is damaged, potentially having no coverage from who you thought you hired.
Whoever you choose to do any of your electrical work, we recommend asking for proof of not just the general liability policy, but the workman's compensation policy, policy number, insurance phone number to verify employees who will be working on the job are covered, and the actual employees who will be on the job site working.
These few steps could save you thousands of dollars in insurance claims and potential lawsuits if anyone gets injured on your property.
Why do some companies choose to not have employees, but 1099 contractors?

Many companies are now opting to hire 1099 contractors instead of hiring full-time employees to cut corners on payroll associated costs.
For every dollar it costs to pay an employee, it costs an average of $1.04 to the company in other fees like unemployment insurance, payroll tax, Medicare/social security match, workman's compensation and medical insurance match premiums etc...
Pro Solutions Air does NOT believe in cutting corners on these costs and putting you at risk.
When you are hiring any company to come out to your home or business, it is completely reasonable to ask to see a current copy of their workman's compensation insurance policy, as well as verify the employees covered on the policy are the actual employees who will be coming to your place to do the work.
